Ryan is originally from Spartanburg, South Carolina and chose to return to his hometown as a Regional Partner for New Page Capital. Prior to joining New Page, Ryan served as an artillery officer in the United States Marine Corps, where he gained valuable operational experience leading teams of Marines worldwide. He left the Marine Corps with the rank of Captain.

Ryan earned his MBA from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia, where he received the William Michael Shermet award for academic excellence. He attended Vanderbilt University and graduated with a BA in Economics.

Ryan serves as a peer mentor for fellow military veterans, helping servicemembers gain access to college and graduate education programs as they leave the military. He has also served as a volunteer instructor with Resilience Education, a program offering high-quality business classes and professional support to incarcerated learners. Ryan is an Eagle Scout and a member of Central United Methodist Church in Spartanburg, the same church he has attended from birth.
